A GLIMPSE BEHIND THE BLUE DOORS

These days, it seems that everybody who’s anybody blogs.  Let’s be honest, I want to be one of the cool kids.  So, in an effort to join the crowd, The Blue Door is finally starting our own…. You guessed it…  our very own  BLOG, entitled “Behind The Blue Doors.”

Some of you know us and know our story.  For those who may not, this is “The BD” in a nutshell:
The Blue Door started as a single store boutique in Columbus, Georgia in 2005 on a wish and a prayer and a big loan.  My mission was to offer the latest fashions at customer -friendly prices in a charming and welcoming atmosphere.  That first year was tough.  I often joke that I was the cashier, buyer, greeter, marketing manager and toilet scrubber, working 7 day weeks only to return to an apartment with NO furniture because I had spent every dime trying to open this business! Is it a joke if it’s really true?  Hmmm.

Thanks to our unbelievably amazing customer base, we have come a long way since then.  (Thank goodness!)  The Blue Door has only one brick and mortar store, but we expanded the business nation-wide with the introduction of our website www.thebluedoorboutique.com in the spring of 2011. Our staff has grown from one to fourteen since 2005.  (Well, actually 15 if you count Ruby, my very furry child who serves as store mascot and greeter.)  We operate out of two offices:  The boutique for walk-in customers, telephone orders and Facebook orders.  The “warehouse” or online office handles receiving, shipping and serves as our webstore call center.  (Many people ask if the warehouse also has blue doors.  Well, of course it does!)  Both offices are filled with the most wonderful people, whom I get the pleasure of working with every day.

We love our jobs and we love you guys for giving us the opportunity to serve you.  From our buyers to our stylists to “packers and pickers,” everyone here takes pride in their job and the products we deliver to you.  If you send us a complimentary email, we tape it to the “wall of happy.”  If you write in a complaint, we discuss it together (over chicken biscuits) during our Monday morning meetings. And if you drive by on a Friday night, there is a good chance you will find us still here, packing your orders because we know you wanted that new dress ASAP!

While we couldn’t manage to get everyone together for a photo, we did the best we could to all gather round and snap this shot.  These are the faces behind The Blue Doors working hard every day to deliver you the latest and greatest fashions to keep you looking and feeling “ahhhhmazing.”

From us to you, THANK YOU for your business.  We greatly appreciate each and every one of you and look forward to serving you in the years to come.

Sincerely,

  2. What a precious picture! The true secret to TBD's success is simply when customers like myself walk in those blue doors, I am greeted by someone who genuinely makes me feel welcome, and always makes me feel my best. I love walking out those same blue doors after too much shopping, and talking, and laughing....saying goodbye to those ladies, my friends. ;) Love yall.

  3. yay! I am so happy you're joining the blogging community! I have been dying to buy something from your boutique! I live all the way out in Seattle, WA. Whenever I order something, I'll dedicate a blog post on my beauty/lifestyle blog to my purchase! I'm from NC orginally so I love to support my southern girls! <3

  4. Thank you for sharing interesting post. commercial cleaning Dallas is a service that has been available for a long time and has always been in demand. This is because there are many people who need the service and not everyone can afford it.
